An attractive town with an historic streetscape and heritage buildings, parklands, churches, and historic graveyards, specialty shops, various dining experiences and views of the South Esk and Macquarie Rivers. A relaxed country lifestyle, yet only 20 minutes from the City of Launceston, Longford is a great place to base in the midlands while visiting the neighboring villages and towns. What you’ll find in Longford: Eating and drinking opportunities include 3 pubs, 2 bottle shops, 2 bakeries, a café, a coffee bar, 2 takeaway shops, 2 pizza shops, a Chinese restaurant and an Indian restaurant. Shops and services include 3 fuel stations, 2 supermarkets, a butchery, a news agency, a post office, a clothing and gifts shop, a chemist, a community op-shop, an antiques, collectables and home wares shop, a beauty salon, an organic tea shop, various merchandise outlets, fishing/hunting gear outlets, a plant nursery, 2 hair dressers, a masseur, a dentist, a real estate agent, a mower/chainsaw centre and an ag supplies store.
