National Rally

Ulysses Club RV Group National Rally 2025 will be held in Tasmania.
Venue – Longford Riverside Caravan Park in Northern Tasmania.
Dates – 6th to the 12th of October 2025.

FIRST, ensure you set aside enough time to see Tasmania thoroughly and start
planning your holiday with us and a fantastic holiday on the Island. You will
really need more than just a couple of weeks. Tasmania is a compact State full of
different experiences. You will not need to travel 300 – 400 km each day to your
next stop, it will be just 30 – 40 instead. Take your time to soak it all in.

The Programme (Updated 27 August 2025)

RALLY AFTER THE RALLY (at Ross)

We have organised a get together for anyone who is still in Tassie before they farewell our island home and head back across the water homeward bound.

We have booked out the Ross Community Sports Club (4-10 Park Street Ross) for three nights and the price is $20 per site, per night;

No power or water connections are available, so self contained vehicles only. No tents.

The Club is ours to use and it has a full lounge room with heaters available and a fully stocked kitchen. There is also a gas BBQ for our use and the toilet block will remain open for us, but there are no showers.

OUR PLAN;

Thursday 23rd October – arrive and explore.

Friday 24th October A local social club will be at the club from 1pm to 4pm for their weekly board games afternoon. We are welcome to join in if we want for a gold coin donation, tea and coffee are available and the bar will be open.

Saturday 25th October – A table has been booked at the local Man ‘o’ Ross hotel for our night time meal.

Historic Bridge in the town of Ross.

Ross has the third oldest bridge in Australia which was completed in 1836 and is one of Australia’s finest historical monuments. It has 186 carvings on the arches depicting Celtic symbols, flora, fauna, and notable personalities of the day.

Local Tas members who couldn’t get to Longford are most welcome to join in for our mini farewell rally too.

Come for one, two or three nights, it’s up to you.

We’ll ask for numbers later, but keep it in mind and check out the very historic village of Ross;

As always, there will be minor changes to times, detail etc. But…this is the programme for the week. It is certainly ‘action packed’ and some events are limited numbers so please book asap to secure your preferred schedule. You can download the programme or just view it here.

As per previous National Rallys we will NOT be handing out a printed programme as timely information will be sent by text twice a day, unless there are urgent changes but you can print this off at home and bring it with you for reference.

Longford Town

Against the silhouette of the Great Western Tiers to the west and the Ben Lomond
Mountain to the east, at the meeting of two rivers, sits the Village of Longford.
Longford is a rural service town within Tasmania’s Northern Midlands with a
population of about 6,000. An attractive town with an historic streetscape and
heritage buildings, parklands, churches, and historic graveyards, specialty shops,
various dining experiences and views of the South Esk and Macquarie Rivers.

A relaxed country lifestyle, yet only 20 minutes from the City of Launceston,
Longford is a great place to base in the midlands while visiting the neighboring
villages and towns.

What you’ll find in Longford:
Eating and drinking opportunities include 3 pubs, 2 bottle shops, 2 bakeries, a café, a
coffee bar, 2 takeaway shops, 2 pizza shops, a Chinese restaurant and an Indian
restaurant.

Shops and services include 3 fuel stations, 2 supermarkets, a butchery, a news
agency, a post office, a clothing and gifts shop, a chemist, a community op-shop, an
antiques, collectables and home wares shop, a beauty salon, an organic tea shop,
various merchandise outlets, fishing/hunting gear outlets, a plant nursery, 2 hair
dressers, a masseur, a dentist, a real estate agent, a mower/chainsaw centre and an ag
supplies store.

Experiences include a library, art galleries, pick-your-own berries sites, a gym, a
bowls club, a tennis club, a golf club, 2 secure off leash dog parks, a village green,
some parks, reserves and playgrounds, kayaking and trout fishing rivers.

Home to World Heritage listed Convict Built sites; Woolmers & Brickendon Estates.

You can pick up a self-guided walking map from the Visitor Information display
inside JJ’s Bakery, or the local Council office. Much of Longford’s original
architecture remains and the guide takes you on a walk through the village precinct of
Old Longford.
Enjoy it all.
