SUMMARY:Tas - Autumn Rally at Eugenana
DESCRIPTION:Our 2026 Autumn Rally will be at The Lakeside Tourist Caravan Park Eugenana. \n76 Lakeside Rd Eugenana \nThe park is in a very picturesque area of the North West Coast near Latrobe / Devonport and is on the site of an old quarry. It has a laid back country atmosphere and has a great bush walk track along an old railway bed heading towards Devonport and is also next door to the Tasmanian Arboretum which is well worth a look. \nThere are also great walks along river to spot a few platypus families. \nOur dates are Thursday 21st\, Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd May but as always\, come earlier and/or stay later if you wish. \nWe have some sites put aside for us at the park\, so to reserve yours just ring 6427 2343 and tell them you are with the Ulysses RV Group and they will put us all close together. \nOn the Friday night at Prickly Mo the nearby vineyard\, there will be a night of live music\, food and drinks. \nIt is Bluesy foot-stomping style music and the vineyard is only 300 metres away so it’s easy walking. The winery opens at 12 noon that day\, serving fruit and cheese platters and the music will start about 6.30pm\, finishing about 9.30pm. \nA cover charge will be $5 which is to support the musician and a yummy Thai food truck will also be on site and starts cooking about 530pm. \nThe cellar door shed a real pearl\, being an old shearing shed converted into a real funky venue with rustic bush style interior. \nWe have some reserved seats inside the shed but you must let me know by the 13th May if you are coming so we can let them know how many to keep space for. DESCRIPTION: Tag a long to the Broken Hill 2026 National Rally \n12th to 18th October 2026 \nMike will be organising a tagalong to Broken Hill for any Tas members who would like to join in. Heading off from somewhere near Geelong approx 7th of October and zig zag our way to Broken Hill staying along the way at a range of predetermined stops of van parks\, free camps and donation stops. \nThe rally is being held at the Broken Hill show ground which is about 2.5km out of town. Sites at the ground are $40 per night including power and water. The programme and all rally activities are being worked on as we speak and will be on the group’s website soon. \nOur members who attended Longford will now know the fun you have and all the great people you meet at these national events\, and for those who couldn’t make it\, now is your chance. \nAs we all know it is very prudent to book your spot on the Spirit well in advance\, even 11 months out just to make sure. Yes\, the new Spirits are due to come on line about that time of year but we all know the troubles they have had and at this stage I wouldn’t be betting my house on an exact date. Starting some plans now is not a bad idea. \nFirstly\, I’d like to have an idea of how many may be joining us\, so please let me know soon if you are at all interested in this trip. As you will see once you have read the following information\, this year’s AGM is in Broken Hill. This could be a great opportunity for couple of weeks get away or 4-6 week get away depending on your available time. \nThe 2026 RV AGM in Broken Hill\, NSW starts 12th October and goes through to 17th October. \nWe will be leading a Tag-Along to the AGM leaving on the 7th October 2026 and taking 5 nights to arrive at the AGM site in Broken Hill. As there is NO early access to the AGM camping grounds in Broken Hill until the 12th\, we will be staying approx. 100 km out of town. This means only a short drive in on the Monday morning. \nDepending on total numbers that wish to come along on this journey of a lifetime\, we are planning 4 free camps\, and one caravan park stay on the way up.  \n7th Oct Lexton Club free camp \n8th Wedderburn Hard Hill Tourist reserve \n9th Apex River beach Holiday Park\, Mildura  \n11th Pooncarie Free camp \n12th to 17th Broken hill Regional Event centre & Racecourse \nNow this is where it gets interesting. Once rally is over there are a few options: \n\nMake your own way home \nContinue your travels seeing this fantastic country OR\nCome with Su and I up to Tibooburra for a couple of nights\, with a day trip up to Camerons Corner for lunch (Leaving vans in caravan park) and to touch the 3-state marker SA. QLD and NSW\n\nThere are a Couple of RV members planning to do this section then head home for Tibooburra. \nBut there’s more: \nSu and I will be taking the longer way home and be on the road for the next 3 – 4 weeks (that part of trip is still to be finalized. Again\, it depends on number of vans wishing to join us). \nWe have attached the proposed schedule for your thoughts. The dates prior to AGM are pretty set but after AGM they are still to be finalized.
